Dave Bailin plays CD Release Party this Sunday, Jan 10 at Pig’s Eye

This just in: Dave Bailin is releasing a solo album, titled Last Call, that he recorded with guitarist Eric Reardon. This Sunday, January 10 CD Release will be celebrated with a CD Release Party at In A Pig’s Eye in Salem, Massachusetts.

The all acoustic album, Last Call, was recorded in one night with just Bailin and Reardon performing. The new CD has 11 tracks, the first and last tracks being cover songs while the rest are all originals.

“You can hear some chairs squeaking here and there. It is live. But, the sound and songs I’m pretty proud of,” Bailin said. “I’ve been playing a lot of solo and duo gigs lately, so I wanted to make an album that reflected that. But I still have the Bailout Band and still want to make more albums with them.”

The Sunday night CD Release Party will begin at 9:00 p.m. with Spike Emerson opening with an acoustic set of his own.

Dave Bailin usually plays out with his band Dave Bailin & the Bailouts, a 4 piece soul rock band out of Salem, MA that has been performing together since 2009. That band has a loyal following in Salem, Massachusetts and are a steady fixtures at Salem venues In a Pig’s Eye and Brodie’s Seaport Cafe. They also play all over the North Shore; Spot Light Tavern in Beverly, The Grog in Newburyport, The Dog Bar and Rhumbline in Gloucester to name some of the more popular venues.

 

The full band released their self titled studio album in November of 2015 with 9 original songs to rave reviews. In 2011 they released their first CD “On The Wire”, a live recording with 8 originals with some obscure covers mixed in. Dave still plays acoustic as a soloist, and does duos and trios with different members of the Bailouts as well as other top notch local musicians. He has been a long standing host of Open Mic Night at In A Pig’s Eye in Salem, the last Monday of every month.
