Matt Stubbs recently some very important information. If you’re not paying attention to this news, you’re going to go to the wrong venue to see his Matt Stubbs & The Antiguas residency. The youthful, New Hampshire born, Boston based blues guitarist will be moving his very famous DownBeat Mondays residency from Cambridge, Massachusetts venue The Pough And Star to that city’s other notable venue, The Sinclair.

In less than two weeks, Matthew Stubbs and The Antiguas will appearing The Sinclair every single Monday night of the year.

“We are doing a huge bash on Monday, January 2nd and celebrating Industry New Years. You are all Invited. Please help us spread the word.”

“Big thanks,” Stubbs continues, “to all our friends-fans that came out for our last Monday at The Plough & Stars,” Stubbs said. “It’s been a great year. We hope to see you all on Monday, January 2nd when DownBeat Mondays moves to its new home at The Sinclair in Harvard Sq-Cambridge MA. As always, it will be a free show and start time is 10: 00 p.m.. We have some very exciting things cooked up for Mondays. See you there.”

In the past, Stubbs’s acclaim has been: 2009 Blues Audience Magazine Award Winner for “Outstanding Guitarist,” “2009 Boston Music Award Nominee for “Best Blues Act,” 2003 winner of Boston Blues Challenge, 2004 Third Place finisher in the International Blues Competition in Memphis, Tennessee.

Previously, Matthew Stubbs has performed with the legendary Charlie Musselwhite, as well as with his own outfit, The Matthew Stubbs Band. Before joining Musselwhite on the road, Stubbs did time with R&B sensation John Nemeth, and also spent a year and a half touring North America with blues diva Janiva Magness. Matthew Stubbs can also be found doing select tours/shows with Lynwood Slim, Junior Watson, Sax Gordon, Brian Templeton and many other top acts. Stubbs was part of The Matt Stubbs Band featuring Kit Holliday when that outfit won the 2003 Boston Blues Challenge and took third place in 2004’s IBC.
