This information just came into BillCopelandMusicNews.com from Mazzie from the all female band The ChIcKz about a fundraiser hosted by The ChIcKz to support victims of the Boston Marathon boming. The ChIckKz are working hard to organize, promote, and host this event.
Hello Billy… Mazzie here, as with the thousands of people saddened with the tragedy of the Boston Marathon Bombings on April 15, 2013 and the 48+ hours of craziness that followed… I felt I needed to do something other than sitting glued to the TV in sheer horror and disgust.
I centered myself and asked “What can I possibly do? How can I contribute something..ANYTHING… and It came to me. I am a Boston based musician, why not host an event to raise funds for the victims.
I thought about getting on board with The One Fund .. but decided to investigate my options of beneficiaries. I found “America’s Fund www.americasfund.org/ and after learning more of this organization and speaking with their staff, it felt right/ perfect… or at least start there and see what unfolds… Long story cut mega short. I am putting together a “show” around 5-7 bands possibly more… I was able to book the Hard Rock Cafe – (I just received this exciting news last night!!!)
