Dylan Birthday Bash to celebrate music, raise funds for Brad Delp Foundation, Lisa Guyer Music Empowerment Program

Londonderry, NH—On May 24th, in celebration of Bob Dylan’s 72st birthday, some of New England’s finest musicians will be performing to benefit The Brad Delp Foundation and The Lisa Guyer Music Empowerment Program at Whippersnappers in Londonderry. The fourth annual event is being headlined by members of The Fools,  BeatleJuice, Charlie Farren, and Brian Maes.

Others scheduled to appear Nashville’s Colene Walters, Napoleon In Rags, Gardner Berry and a slew of special guests. There is only one condition of performing on stage for this evening: all songs performed must have been written by Bob Dylan.

This year’s evening will break slightly with tradition and include selections from the Traveling Wilburys Vol. I album, celebrating its 25th anniversary. “The Wilburys record encompasses so much of what Brad thought made music great, especially the lyrics of Dylan and the music of George Harrison” says The Fools’ Mike Girard, newcomer to the event. “Rich and I are so looking forward to doing some of these tunes and supporting a couple great causes!”

“Spreading the songs of Dylan through benefits like this is a passion,” said the evening’s organizer Bobby Livingston. “I’ve been hosting these Birthday Bashes since 1996 and with the amazing lineup this year; we expect this year to be the best yet! So many talented musicians are thrilled to be a part of supporting these two great causes.”

There will be a $25 donation accepted as a cover charge to attend, and a portion of the funds raised by The Brad Delp Foundation will go to support the Lisa Guyer Music Empowerment Program. The Brad Delp Foundation was established to honor the late singer’s memory by awarding music related grants, scholarships and funding for school music programs. “We are thrilled to support Lisa Guyer’s Music Empowerment Program,” says Meg Sullivan of the Brad Delp Foundation. “It’s exactly the kind of program the BDF encourages.”

Guyer created this unique week-long camp to use music, movement, and motivation to inspire students’ creativity and help them blossom to their full potential

. The next session of the LGMEP is scheduled for August 12 – 16th at the Dreamsicle Arts and Entertainment Center in Suncook, NH.
